Premier Bulldog is a family-run program in Shipshewana, Indiana, run by Elson Bontrager and family, raising English Bulldogs since 2011. Every puppy is raised with daily handling and family involvement, and we keep to one or two litters at a time so each puppy gets real attention before going home.
Puppies available right now are shown above. If none of them is the right match today, that is normal for a program this size, and the waitlist is the way in. It costs nothing to join the free list, and we would rather tell you honestly where you stand than leave you guessing.
Every English Bulldog puppy leaves us with the same package:
A $600 deposit reserves your place on the priority waitlist and is applied toward your puppy's price. It is fully refundable within a 48-hour window, and you can transfer it to a different puppy or to an upcoming litter if your plans change. Each puppy's price is shown on that puppy's own page. Ask us anything before you place one — we want it to be the right fit as much as you do.
Our English Bulldog puppies go home when they are ready to go. By then they have been through Early Neurological Stimulation from their first days, weeks of daily handling and real-life socialization, and the beginnings of crate, potty and leash training. That extra time with us is deliberate — it is the difference between a puppy who settles into a new home and one who struggles.
English Bulldogs are affectionate, loyal and gentle, and they are famously good with children. Most adults weigh between 40 and 50 pounds and stand around 14 to 15 inches tall, with a typical lifespan of 8 to 10 years. They are a low-energy breed — short daily walks and indoor play suit them far better than long runs — which makes them a good fit for apartments and for families who want a calm dog underfoot rather than an athlete.
They do need a little routine care: the facial wrinkles want wiping a few times a week, and because they are a flat-faced breed they feel heat badly and should be kept cool in summer. None of that is difficult, but it is worth knowing before you commit. Both parents complete health screening and DNA testing before a litter is planned, and dam and sire pairings are chosen deliberately rather than by convenience. Our dogs are AKC-registered, we follow Canine Care Certified standards, and Premier Bulldog is certified through the Responsible Dog Breeder Network.
Visits are welcome by appointment once we have had a chance to connect — you are welcome to meet the puppies and their parents in person. We are open Monday to Saturday by appointment and closed Sundays. For families outside Indiana we can talk through ground or air transport or a mid-way meetup, along with any additional cost for your location.
